Samhain celebrates Nature's cycle of death and renewal, a time when we acknowledged the beginning and ending of all things in life and nature. Samhain marks the end of harvest and the beginning of the New Year.
The Goddess is in her final stage, The Crone - the keeper of mysteries and wisdom. Also, the viel between this world and the next are a lot thinner, so spirits may find it easier to cross over at this time. Feasts are held to celebrate the living, and the dead, and to celebrate their lives, and make most of what we have.
Bonfires are also part of this tradition, holding large fires to warm bones, and to ward of evil, but to also welcom and warm the souls of good.
Samhain is a blessed time, and all whom believe it is so should embrace this next week, for summer is almost at an end, and Yule will soon be upon us.
I hope everyone has a brilliant Samhain, Saween, Halloween and New Year.
Blessed Be, everyone!
